Renault Group

Description

The Renault Group, headquartered in France, is an international car manufacturer established in 1898 by brothers Louis, Marcel and Fernand RENAULT. It is employing 105,812 women and men in 2022, who are contributing to Renault Group’s results in more than 130 entities, spread out over 35 countries. It designs, develops, produces, distributes and finances passenger cars and light commercial vehicles as well as innovative services under four automotive brands: Renault, Dacia, Alpine and Mobilize – offering sustainable and innovative mobility solutions to its customers.
The Renault Group was one of the pioneers in the manufacturing of electric vehicles. Since the launch of its electric vehicle program in 2012, the Group has sold more than 490,000 electric vehicles. In line with environmental challenges, Renault Group aims to achieve carbon neutrality in Europe by 2040, while making electric travel accessible to everyone by offering solutions to every need.

Role and Key Contribution to the Project

Renault will bring the perspective of a mass production car manufacturer in the consortium. It will contribute to the definition of stakeholde’ needs, i.e., the global playground for future urban frugal electric vehicles including users, future urban landscape and policies. More specifically, it will lead the development of an innovative Mission Suitability & Social Index to synthesise stakeholder needs in relation to mobility systems that integrate frugal EVs.
It will also contribute to the definition and optimisation of the frugal EV architecture towards a reference platform design, with a focus on the break down of the MSSI into design guidelines.
Renault will be involved in the optimisation and adaptation of components & systems to the novel platform. More in detail, it will provide requirements and recommendations related to the electric, electronics and software system integration of the e-drivetrain into the novel platform.
We are thrilled to be taking part in this project, which offers multiple horizons for clean, agile mobility that’s accessible to all.
