For the Manila Living Lab, the Philippine EV manufacturer Tojo Motors will develop a frugal and innovative electric vehicle designed for logistics and passenger transport. The Living Lab aims to strengthen local manufacturing capacity while promoting light electric vehicle services for logistics and passenger transport. Combining innovation with sustainability, it reflects the GIANTS project’s mission to provide adaptable and efficient mobility solutions tailored to diverse regional needs.
On 11-12 December 2024, project partners Wuppertal Institute for Climate, Environment and Energy, Clean Air Asia and Tojo Motors gathered in Manila to explore potential use cases, user needs, and operational requirements for the Living Lab. During a site visit, Tojo Motors presented its electric-three wheelers featuring lightweight composite panels – a breakthrough in electric vehicle production efficiency and design.
