From 19. – 20. November 2024, the EGVIAfor2Zero General Assembly and Internal Brokerage Event took place in Leuven, Belgium. The GIANTS project was represented by our partners from KU Leuven Mecha(tro)nic System Dynamics (LMSD), who also hosted a technical visit to their labs.
Participants explored KU Leuven’s demonstrations contributing to sustainable and energy-efficient vehicle technologies, including:
• Onboard battery chargers and automated disassembly of batteries.
• Electromotor circular economy models.
• RUL (Remaining Useful Life) prognostics for automotive drivetrains and their critical components.
• Cooperative control systems, and in the design, optimisation, monitoring.
This visit highlighted the crucial role of collaborative research in advancing European Green Vehicle projects and fostering innovation in sustainable mobility.
